As of 09/01/2010 we have in the pot for St. Jude: $398.20
This is our SWOGO=CARES 2010 project.
-The travel bug's goal is to spread the word about St. Jude Children's Hospital.
-We are starting out with 12 travel Bugs from 12 different cachers.
-Each person is a sponsor of a Travel bug. Each person paid for the tag and the figure for
the tag $8 bucks)
-When someone finds and logs the persons travel bug that has their name on it and the
geocacher that finds their travel bug take's a picture of it with an object that looks like it
could be a droid, You will then owe 20 cents to the pot. (I.E. Lytleone's) Travel bug has been
found in a cache in New York. The person that found her travel bug takes a picture of her
bug in front of the Statue of liberty and then posts it to the travel bugs page, Lytleone will
now owe 20 cents to the pot.
Note: If the finder post multi pictures, It will only be 10 cents (Unless they wish to donate
for each picture uploaded) Also, we have a $20 max limit on each bug unless the sponsor
of that bug wishes to pay more.
-If you find one of these travel bugs and you help us out by taking a picture and uploading it
to the travel bugs page, Just let us know that you did it and let us know your team name and we will
give you 1 free ticket per bug you find to our drawing. E-mail us at SWOGO@HOTMAIL.COM
-On September 1 we will add up the miles. If your travel bug goes "Lets say" 10,000 miles.
you will owe 50 cents per 1000 miles or ($5.00) And your Travel bug has 22 pictures that
has been uploaded to the bugs home page on Geocaching.com, at 20 cents per picture you
will owe $4.40 for the pictures. Then you add that with the miles and you would owe the
pot $9.40 for St. Jude.
NEWS FLASH, by request from the bug owners,The ending date has been moved to December 30th
This will let us try and get more money for the pot.
-Then for each 50 cents you donate you will get a raffle ticket. If you had to donate
$20 for your travel bug, You will get 40 raffle tickets. We will also be selling tickets
all year long at our events for $1 each or 6 for $5
-On September 11 @ 7 PM we will have a Geocaching Event at Donatos for Pizza party. We will
take all of those tickets and put them in a container and we will draw for Prize at the party.
"You will not need to be at this party to win"
This has been moved to January 2011
-We will have a 2nd Drawing Just for those who sponsored a bug
-As a bonus For every Cache that Dakota Jones and Lytleone find as a team, Another 10 Cents will be donated to the pot.
A Special note: Because of a jealous cacher taking the log tags out of caches and then 3 days later (more than enough time
to go around and take all of the tags) They started lying to other cache placers that these two did not visit their caches, Because of this
sad deed, A special gift of $120 dollars was donated by the support team that was in the area with Lytleone and Dakota Jones when they did
the 24 hour cache run. 12 different people at different times during the run verified that caches was in fact visited. The witness of tags
being put into caches was made. Some of the group went back down to visit the caches that had been witnessed to tags being put in, Somehow
they ALL disappeared from those caches. The only logic everyone has came up with was that the jealous cacher did in fact take the tags. Because
of this, Each of the 12 support members got together after this sad event and decided to gave $10 each to turn this one jealous cachers sad deed
into something great. Our board is not for bashing so no names will be used "BUT" I am sure that anyone of 45 plus who knows will be happy to give
you the name at any of our events.
-There is one more prize we will give away at the end. We will toast the owner of the Travel bug that had to donate the most!
